Body. Soul. Spirit. That’s what makes up a human being. These are the components that compose you! I want you to know that you are not an accident. You were made in Gods image. You were deliberately, purposefully, and intentionally made.
Atheism would tell you that you’re a purposeless cosmic chemical accident. It would tell you that your ancestors were animals, that fish became philosophers, and that frogs became princes. Albeit, in a more clever, tactful, and deceitful way. Under it all – this is what their saying.
But I want you to know that you’ve been lied too. You are not related to any kind of animals, neither are you an animal. You are more precious than the animals. You were fearfully and wonderfully made.
There are many gods that people have worshipped throughout the ages. But there is one who stands above them all. There is one who conquered death itself. His name is Jesus.
Man was in a bad place. We’ve really messed up this world. We’ve really broken things. As a human race, we’re violent, we lie, we steal, we murder, we rape, we’re self-seeking… we’re selfish.
But then Jesus came. Conceived by the Holy Spirit of God himself, Jesus was born to the virgin Mary. Born in Bethlehem, but raised in Nazareth, Jesus grew in wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Then when he was 30 years old began a ministry that would shake the foundations of the world.
Today Jesus remains the centerpiece of civilization. Jesus divides AC from BC. Jesus opened the eyes of the blind. He unblocked the ears of the deaf. He commands storms to cease and they obeyed. He commanded the dead to rise, and they came back to life.
He then laid down his life in fulfilment of the prophecies written of him beforehand.
He died for our sins. He was bruised for our wrongdoings. He was crushed as our substitute.
We deserved judgement because of our wrongdoings, but Jesus took the bullet for us. He took the penalty upon his shoulders.
The bible describes Jesus as the perfect representation of the Father. In fact, Jesus said to many – “if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.”
Its by this same Jesus that you were created. You were made in his image. This same Jesus is the one who created all things. The universe and everything in it was created for Jesus and by Jesus.
Jesus is not like other gods. He is a God who transcends the boundaries of time, an eternal God who sees the beginning from the end. A God who is good. A God who is all about truth. A God who is faithful. A God who is powerful.
A war is going on, and you are the prize. There is an enemy of our souls, and a God who loves and cares for you.
This is the good news. That although you a part of a rebellious race (the human race), and even though you’ve sinned personally – God has made a way for reconciliation and forgiveness.
Repent, and turn to Jesus for forgiveness today. Call upon his name and he is mighty to save. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
God isn’t distant – he wants a real relationship with you. It’s got nothing to do with religious institutions. He wants you.
Prayer is talking to God, but it’s also more than that. It’s listening to God. Ask God to speak to you. Ask God to forgive you. Ask God to cleanse you from all unrighteousness and create in you a clean heart. A pure heart.
He will do it!
